We are so excited to share with you our brand new products: a range of absolutely delicious and all-natural Wood-Smoked Seasonings!

We launched them at FarmFest 2022 and they are already making big flavour waves!

Keep reading to find out what wood-smoked seasonings are, all the ways you can use them at home and the funny story behind their development. 


What are Wood-Smoked Seasonings?

Our new range of spice mixes are the seasonings used in our amazing DF Smoke Haus wood-smoked food packs. 

We took our basic recipe, and then wood-smoked the seasonings themselves to take the flavours to yet another level. 

Using only kitchen ingredients in accordance with our values, these are a great addition to any pantry or BBQ kit. You can read more about how they’re produced below.

All our seasonings are gluten free and 100% natural, with no preservatives or E-numbers.  

If you like our wood-smoked foods, you will adore these delicious wood-smoked seasonings. 

Even better, if you’re not local to South East Queensland and haven’t been able to get your hands on our foods, you can order our seasonings online and we can ship them anywhere in Australia!

Introducing the Delicious Flavours in Our Range

There are 5 amazing flavours in our range (so far!). They’re all absolutely delicious because our ingredients are top shelf, which makes all the difference.

We use a range of herbs and spices, plus rapadura dried cane sugar, sea salt and only freshly ground black pepper in each batch.

The JS#4 All-Rounder 

This one is our favourite and we use it in 3 of our products: our best-selling Pulled Pork, our Sliced Chicken thigh fillets, and our Smoked Whole Mushrooms. 

With a good bit of paprika and a hint of cumin, this one goes on anything and makes a mean butter too! 


Savoury Garlic & Pepper 

This one is nice and simple, with only 4 ingredients. We use it on our Brisket, and it will go well on any beef. It also works nicely with veggies, seafood, eggs, and did someone say garlic butter?


Sweet Onion & Pepper

It’s sweet but it is GOOD, and perfect on our Pork Belly Bites.

This one loves all types of pork, but try it on skewers, chicken or ribs–you won’t be disappointed!


All-Purpose Chicken & Veg

As the name suggests, this one loves all chicken and veggies! With tasty thyme, this is what we use in our Pulled Chicken. 

But don’t let the name fool you, this can be used on anything: steaks, lamb, seafood and butters are all on the cards.


Spicy Jamaican Jerk

With 14 herbs and spices, the flavour of this one is next level! 

It packs a cayenne and chilli punch and is perfect on chicken, wings, pork or even a spicy butter!

How To Use The Seasonings

Our Wood-Smoked Seasonings range is designed for the home cook or BBQ enthusiast. They’re perfect for use in the kitchen, BBQs and smokers.

Each jar has a listing of the best foods to prepare with that particular seasoning. However, they can be used for anything to bring on maximum flavour. 

Check out the range of recipes on our blog to see the many ways you can use them, or get creative and create something of your own!

Here are some great ideas for using our seasonings that you might like to try: 

  • Create amazing seasoned butters for your veggies, steaks or fish
  • Rub into meats and veggies before oven cooking, pan-frying, barbecuing or grilling
  • Rub onto potatoes for baking or air-frying. Seasoned baked potatoes or wedges? Yum!
  • Sprinkle-season onto meats and veggies after plating
  • Use as smoker rubs on your brisket, ribs, pulled pork, wings, corn, mushrooms…you name it! If you can smoke it, these seasonings will take that flavour to the next level!

The Story Behind The Seasonings

We showed our Wood-Smoked Food Packs at MeatStock 22 in Toowoomba, and it was a big show! 

We brought along our rubs to taste, as we’re proud of how natural they are and the amazing flavours we deliver. 

We thought the MeatStock crowd would be into them and it might inspire their own BBQ adventures. 

Before we knew it, people were placing orders left, right and centre for products we weren’t even selling! 

When we said we weren’t selling them, people looked at us like we were idiots and said, ‘Why not!?’

After MeatStock, I started looking at packaging them for sale and thought I might as well chuck them in the smoker to see what happens.

Oh. My. Goodness! AMAZING!

The initial rubs are good, but the smoked seasonings are now superb!

The subtle beechwood smoke has infused the all-natural ingredients, adding another delicious layer of flavour that just makes it!

Without adding any additives or anti-caking agents, we had to do some R&D to ensure they wouldn’t clump. 

We have come up with a couple of good moves that result in a truly great product without the added flavours, colours, stabilisers and anti-caking agents in most rubs–these babies are just pure good food!

We’re really proud of this product and the feedback from tasters and customers has been fantastic. 

Since our launch 2 weeks ago at FarmFest 2022, they are just flying off the shelves.
